A Tribute to Ujjain at the Indian Couture League
We were deeply honored to represent Team Madhya Pradesh at the prestigious Indian Couture League, curated by the World Designing Forum. To stand among visionaries from across the nation and share the cultural richness of our state through fashion was a truly humbling experience.
Our task was to craft an ensemble using a traditional handicraft native to Madhya Pradesh. We chose the timeless art of Batik printing, known for its intricate detailing and expressive forms. But our vision reached beyond textile — we sought to tell a story, one rooted in the spiritual and artistic soul of Ujjain.
Drawing inspiration from Ujjain’s celebrated legacy, we wove literary homage into the design, subtly referencing the poetic masterpiece Abhigyan Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, one of the nine gems of ancient India. The result was a contemporary Indo-western silhouette — where artisanal technique met timeless poetry, and heritage danced with modernity.
Ujjain, a city where art, poetry, and spirituality intertwine effortlessly, became both muse and message. This outfit was our quiet ode to its enduring beauty.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the World Designing Forum, fellow designers, and every supporter who made this journey unforgettable.
We invite you to explore our gallery and experience the story behind the silhouette — where tradition finds its voice in every thread.
